It is with great sadness that on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018, Doug left his life here on earth. Born Feb. 4, 1962, in Montgomery Alabama. Doug and his family moved around early in life, being in an air force family, and settled in the Fort Walton Beach area in 1970 and became a permanent resident of the Emerald Coast. He spent his career in the hospitality industry and was well known and loved throughout the community.
He was proceeded in death by his hero and father, Laurence Dietzen. and is survived by his loving mother, Martha Dietzen, brothers Christopher and wife Ann Dietzen, Gary and wife Carolyn Dietzen, sister Michelle and husband Tim Henderson, as well as 7 nieces and nephews, and 6 great nieces and nephews.
Doug was a special person loved by all those who knew him and will be greatly missed by his many friends. He was an adventurer traveling the globe and making friends wherever he went.
He is best known for his infectious smile, crystal blue eyes, and witty sense of humor. Doug never met a stranger and was always the life of the party. Doug had a strong religious faith and he genuinely cared for people and always there to help those in need.
We will forever have a place in our heart and take great comfort in knowing Doug is with his Lord and Savior and finally at peace.
A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to Pathways for Change in honor of Doug Dietzen.
